Do any of you guys know of a good shop in the ATL where I can get some Suspension mods? I've been looking through the posts, and it seems unless I want to spend big bucks for coilovers, then TRD/Eibach springs, Tokico struts and a TRD RSBar will give a dramatic improvement (Which is what I'm after. My '92 probe with worn out shocks would out corner my 2000 XLEv6 in a heartbeat) Without too much ride quality degredation.

I've heard that coil overs are more than 1.5 grand for a set. Is this significantly more than springs and struts? I don't want to be messing with settings every weekend, I just want something good to go. It seems they'd be more expensive to replace when they wear out as well. Or are there any rebuilable Coilovers?

Yo what up!

You can check out this shop Mahdavi Motorsports right off of Lawrenceville highway. That’s were I took mine the other week. The quoted me $225 at first till they needed to charge an extra $75 because they had to take the entire rear interior out to reach the rear struts. So $300.00 for springs and Struts installation. They also recommend an alignment done and they charge $65.00 for that. Ask for Arash.

So total will be $365 even. I looked around allot and that’s the lowest price any performance shop around the NE ATL area.
They did a great job so no complaints.

Thanks Solarat.
What did you get installed? Does your suspension bottom out ever? MOST importantly: Is cornering improved?

good lord! thats beyond reaching the sky...

i'd save the $300 and do the install myself. its not that hard. esp if you like working on cars.

there is 1 coilover system that is less than $1.5k...

i believe the SF-1 by JIC costs around $1.2k.

like working on cars...

Postby Sentinel » Tue Mar 23, 2004 9:41 am

Sure, I like working on stuff... But the problem is I have no lift, spring compressor, and most of all: I HATE working on my daily driver. Working on a 2nd car or motorcycle is cool, when you know that you can bag the job for tomorrow. I detest having to go to the store for "one more part" when the car is in pieces.

Seeing as I'm so worried about scraping/rubbing: What do you guys think of a non-lowered, TRD rear sway bar, and tokico suspension? will that get me around .84 cornering? I know there are DynoLabs all around the place... is there anyplace with a skidpad? or a GeeMeter for rent?

Stock/Boring whatever...

kauffman tires in buckhead

Postby that1mexguy » Tue Mar 23, 2004 3:40 pm

Hey man, the guy at the Kauffman tires around Buckhead/Lindbergh plaza is installing my Tein springs and Tokico struts Thursday for $250. He would usually do it for $300 but he's hooking me up, maybe if you get something like that i can ask him to do the same for you. Where in ATL u from?

Yeah installing springs/struts with out the right equiptment is a pain in the butt. Some people have that skill to do it themselves but not me. But acually, get with that1mexguy's contact, cause he might be able to get u that hook up.
I dont know what your talkin' about bottoming out cause so far my ride is superb. 100% improved. Love the stiff feel and control while turning. I can anticipate my car's moves now even better than ever. If you got the funds like other people on this forum then of coarse go for Coilover set up but if not then you can always do a spring/strut set-up.

You asked what I got installed and I got Tokico HP Struts and Vogtland Springs.

Good Luck. 8)
