I'm pretty sure this is my fault. When I posted a response, I got error messages and when I tried to erase the duplicates, the thread went up in smoke. This is what I wanted to post:

I believe the ECU pinouts are the same for ALL Solaras from 99-03. There is no designation for CA-SPEC vs. Federal. That is not to say that the ECU's are the same but the pin function is constant. Now for Camry's that's a whole different ballgame. Especially the 97 and 98 years. Oh, I believe the "L" is for lavender (blue).

Scott... its not agreeing with my PM'ng so here:

At idle it will hit the high side of stoich and dissapear. At full (or near) throttle it reads constant barley rich and then dips down to high stoich around 5.5 rpms, im only running 4 psi with everything else stock so it doesnt really do me any good to have it. Anywhere else it will instantly give me a reading when i tap the gas usually high stoich to rich and while going through the gears it will pulse between a measure to nothing relativly quickly. I think that the diagram i have http://penguin.homeunix.org/o2 is for smog or regualr solara because it doesnt differentiate between the two, the issue is only with certain years of camry it looks liek. What kind of gauge do you have?

huh... so swim u tapped the lavander one then? I did some searching on the internet and found videos and pictures of the Air Fuel gauges, and it seems that every gauge should (at idle) bounce around from lean to rich, because the engine is constantly trying to fix the fuel mixture... as far as it disappearing after it hits rich im not sure if that is right... when I get my gauge on friday, I will try tapping that wire labeled "OXS" and see if that gives me a good reading... Im thinking that is the oxygen sensor... so... ill keep ya posted

I don't have a voltmeter, but If I were to try to tap the various wires it wouldn't hurt it at all right? since there is no input of voltage from the gauge itself? it would just hurt the wire I tapped right?? Im just curious and want to be 100% sure I won't fuc$ $hit up if I do this
thanks
Scott

alright.. just looking for a "yeah that should work" or "no u will fuc$ something up"... i get my gauge tomorrow.. and im installing it the second it comes to my door... I am going to try to tap the wire labeled OXS on the ecu pinout.. this should be alright and not mess up my ecu correct.... since its just tapping the voltage reading rather than putting voltage into it? am I correct... thanks for the responces

Scott, relax. Some people like me only had time now to log on to the board since 2 days ago. OXS is the wire for the O2 sensor after the cat. You sure you want to do that? I would think you would want to try plug E10 pin 12 first or the AFL+ wire. Your narrow band A/F meter sets stoich at 14.7 and the +/- is very narrow so yes it will go off scale if you have had your moter tuned to about 11.5-12.0. Honestly, the narrow band A/F is worthless. You can't tune with it and the readings are too jumpy. Not to mention that it does not read in a wide enough area. Good Luck.
