Brembo Front Rotors for 4CYL Applications

Postby TheTamago » Tue Jun 01, 2004 3:30 am

Just did a browse through Ebay when I was bored and noticed Brembos and other rotors up for auction. I'm curious that I've only heard of upgrades for just the brake lines and the pads. Theres seems to be some Brembo Cross-Drilled Rotors for the front on Ebay.

I'm feeling lazy to do a search so just help me out with a friendly yes or no will it work or not cause i haven't replaced my brakes every since i bought my car back in mid yr of 2000. Krazy no? Nearing 44K and soon ready to get the Yellow/Blue service soon i think? from Toyota as I kinda still baby my car. I'd probably be scrapping my savings for my awsome PC workstation as I doubt i'll be home a lot anymore if I continue to work like a full-time whitecollar worker in a cubicle*AS IF!*

So gimme feed back. If I do scrap my savings for my next pc, i'll probably be able to add the suspension after the brake system change if this works out?

Thank you in advance!

I have upgraded front rotors. I like them, but the OEM ones should be good for alot more than 44k miles.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

Yeah if you got to replace your rotors you might as well go with the Sloted or drilled ones. Only going to make it better. Otherwise you realy don't "NEED" to as with those miles all Toyo will do is machine/resurface them with pad replacement.

I just hit 50k too. Good mileage bro. Tads got over 100k and runing strong!

Love Toyota!

Hey Tads - I'm replacing my EGR, Modulater, & VSV myself and will do a DIY. Thanks for those pics! Helped me get off on the right foot.

but what would cost more? If my brakes were worn badly and I have stopped baddly only like 3times so far. Rotors partially damaged? Resurfacing and realignment? vs just drop in a good pair of rotors? since I'm still using the stock 15" alloy oem wheel rims. It'll fit on nicely. Considering I bet it'll cost a whole lot to change it out to a 4wheel braking system  I was a car newbie when I got the car so I didn't know at the time that it only had front brakes for certain 4Cyl models if I'm correct?

Anyways thankies and anymore opinions will be nice. Just a long road awaiting and the possibilities are pretty much endless so far on what I wanna do to make my car more durable and lasting =)
