FSB and RSB

FSB and RSB

Postby StockSolara » Tue Jun 29, 2004 10:22 pm

I was thinking about getting the front and rear sway bars. I notice that whiteline is selling both of them and I was wondering is there a difference between the TRD and Whiteline RSB? Can any show me pictures of where the RSB and FSB goes? Does anyone have a DIY on the FSB and RSB? I tried searching for it but it didn't seem like anyone made it. So, if anyone can help me out, it's very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!!!

there is a difference b/w the rear sway bars from whiteline and trd.

TRD makes a bar that may act as either 19mm or 21mm thickness, where as whiteline only made a bar that is 20mm thickness.

as for the front, whiteline is the only maker, but i would not bother in upgrading the front sway, as there is plenty of understeer as is.

the front strut bar(connects the two strut housings) has little effect when you upgrade from the stock to the TRD.

the front sway bar is under the car.

just to clear up.

So. . . your basically saying im wasting my money if I put in the front sway bar? I thought that you would need the front to be put in so it maybe balanced out because I read that some people say they spun out when only the rear was put in.

people have spun out when they do not understand or lack experience on the dynamics of upgrading to a car's rear sway.

Not a waste of money, but it's certainly a matter of preference. I always recommend people get the RSB first and then decide if the want to get stiffer. Personally, I love mine!
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

Tru, tru. The Art of the Drift is quite complicated. I myself have been attempting to perfect it over the past year doing some touge runs on Tantilus with my friends' 240s. BUT . . . what TRDMole said is so very true. When you begin modding your car with aftermarket parts, you need to make the effort to understand the changes it will result in. Having a FRONT & REAR sway bar is a definite plus in the car's handling, but you just need to learn how to control that upgrade. Our cars unfortunately have quite a bit of the understeer, due to several factors too.

dont even bother getting the front sway, IMO its a waste of money as well as craps out your handling even more than it allready is. Im running the rear TRD on track as well as having the rear shocks adjustment stiffer than the front and still dont like the feeling of understeer. In all my efforts, all I did was maybe get it closer to a neutral point of handling. If you got upgraded rims/tires then dont worry about spinning out/losing control because it might not even happen. Only time EVER that i felt the back whip out was when i was running around on stock 15s and crappy michilin mxv4s. Now that i got the IS300 rims with dunlop sp9000 sports, theres no worry about grip.

Get the TRD. Start on the outer holes = race, once you are used to it you can move it to 21MM which is track

Real easy to change and its a great mod
