no need for all that just go on ebay and get a gauge cluster with lower miles thats all

That's a scary thought. :-?

It's a digital odometer.

Jesus.

Even if it wasn't, the odometer doesn't track the miles on the gauge cluster, it tracks the car. That doesn't work.

And yeah, you'll get cought for odometer fraud real quick.

Then toyota is the only car company that I have ever heard be this incredibly stupid.

So if I wanted a new gauge cluster for my 130k mile car.

I could buy one, and have a new cluster, and commit odometer fraud for a couple hundred bucks?

From what i was told the OD miles are store in a seprate memory. its not only in the gauge cluster. Im not sure how it works exactly but your suppose to have it calibrated (SP). Also toyota has a computer that can bring up the actual mileage.

Maybe someone like jeff aka raveboi can confirm this, or someone that works at the dealers.

Yeah, I would assume that the milage is stored somewhere else besides the cluster. I highly doubt that Toyota or any other manufacturer would make it that easy.

yeah, just because when you upt in a new cluster it reads the old mileage doesn't mean once you start driving it wont adjust.
