shine ur lights against a wall or garage... give about 15-20 feet

What do you measure after you do this. Like is there a certain hieght, vertically at the top of the beam should be on the wall at this distance. And is there a specific width the beams span across in the horizontal directions

You guys are making me glad I didnt jump on this one. I almost used my wheel money for this. It sounds like I should go the other route and just buy some factory used lights off ebay and take them apart and paint them black myself. Then seal it back up.

Park your car 15-20 ft away from the wall and adjust the beam to your liking (hieght wise)... this is the main method used to ensure youre not cokk-eyed with one on the ground and one up in the air shining at UFO's...

Taking them apart is risking cuz you most likely wont seal them up enough and get condensation or something else going wrong... think of the possibilities... yes you save money, but if not done properly, you gain more headaches...

personally for yourself, save the money for the rims... youll be more happy.... trust me

I am having hte same issues Flash. Mine are pointed to the ground so much my hi beams end about 25' in front of me. Low beams are useless, but I like the cool pattern they make on the ground. Definitely different than OEM, and I like it, even the corner lamps. But I have no idea where the adjuster screws are. Can someone help me out here?
I'm also glad to have purchased these because then my OEM's can be my guinea pig for cool lighting projects, like possibly the demon eyes from the other thread, totally custom tho.

Theres a metal nut on the headlight towards the grill (10mm for black housed, 8mm for OEM) that you can twist to move it up or down. its a bit hard to get to. You can get to it with a socketed rachet if you clip off the fuse box for the respective side (Driver side is near the battery, passenger side fuse box to unclip has the radiator hose on it).

Then theres a 8mm screw towards the corner lights on each side that is supposed to be to aim it left and right...but they dont seem to do that for me on the aftermarkets. This one is impossible to get to with a socket if its mounted, you need to use a small 8mm wrench.

****edit****
I just opened my first OEM light and removed the chrome piece to be painted, and am currently baking the other one. Hardest part will be securely reattaching the "glass" to the lamp.
****end edit***

Okay, after blowing a light now, I'm just generally upset with my headlights.

I really like the look of the black, but the quality flat out sucks. I can't see crap when I'm driving and the light pattern is so scattered, I really can't stand it. I want OEM quality, but in the same color.

Which leads me to wanting to open up my old headlights and do them. Is anyone else in the same boat as me?

I'm satisfied with the fact that it shoots light forward, with street legal quality lumens. If you want better light, buy HID's and retrofit projectors.

I have the black housing too. They look great but the light sucks. Would getting the 5300 HID kit make better light with these or should i just put back my OEMs?

It's really horrible that so many people feel badly about purchasing the lights. Sorry guys.

It would be amazing if whomever decides to take it upon themselves to retrofit their own lights with projectors or other modifications would put together a write-up about it.
