me loves my coilover SSes. They rocks my body even for the road jiggles but that's the price for performance. Stability and cornering is what high performance suspension is all about. I'm crazy on turns as I only see a couple people out here in Arizona that TURN properly. I usually get bored and take some ppl on the outter turn lane with my dinky I4 pumping the wheels with the suspension and wheels gripping like crazy to give me the sexay turn in. Also at times when i'm first on the inner turn in.. the rear car in back of me is usually 3car lengths behind me and i'm hardly pushing my throttledown. Plus I usually catch ppl that cut in front of me speeding over the speed limit by almost 10+ when i'm doing 5+ over and we end turning at the same street. I end up almost bumper to bumper to their turning but I only do this at night when i wanna get home and jump on the computer, chow on some food, clean up, do some more stuff on the comp then crash and wake up and begin my daily work routine for work.

But anyways all this mumble jumble is.. just don't regret that you spent .5G's on a simple suspension and then u're wanting to get a 1.3kish coilover suspension in the end. Lost .8G's unless you're lucky to sell off your old suspension.

Also I think weight reduction is better with a coilover system then a spring/strut setup but that depends on many i suppose but i do feel my car is getting lighter besides chewing up 17Gal's of gas weekly. Good luck with your setup!

yawns....

I might be a Solara newbie... but have a lot of experience with cars, my last car was a modded 92 Nissan stanza (lots of custom work), I raced a lot of guys with less mods than mine, and beat every single one... mine was an auto, and it ate up manuals all the time, only a few 6 and 8 cylinder cars escaped its fury.

With that said... I learned the hard way through my mistakes on that ride. An example... dont buy Intrax springs in NYC... with time they will sag, and give you some negative camber.... not cool!

I thought about the eibach/tokico setup, but I can get a better price on the teins. Plus my hook up at RCT performace here in NYC tells me that Teins give a more aggressive look and feel, but are still a manageable ride. I wanted coilovers for the adjustablility of the struts, so I could adjust the car's attitude on the fly.

But you are correct.... way too much $$$, but I still think its the only real way to go.
Geeks get it done, while Nerds whimper and call for mommie.
