Need some help from you guys, RX-8 wheels

Postby GooseXRS » Fri Nov 03, 2006 12:38 pm

I think 40 offset is the ideal offset. 40-50 is recomended by almost every rim company. I am rocking the R32 GT-R Skyline wheels they are 16x8 plus 30 offset and im rubbing in the back so I have to have my fenders rolled or cut. Just my two cents. I like the rx-8 rims. roll with them. just rock spacers.
Take Care

If you asking me im running 225 50 16 on the front and 205 55 16 on the back and I still rub on the back. The tires came new on the rims. I am going to run 235 50 16. I think that would be perfect. Probably falken azenis st615's those are beautiful.

CASTRO wrote:another thing you gotta think about is the center bore hub. If its too small on the rims, it wont want to go on the car's hub. If its too big, it shouldn't be too mch of a problem, but thing is that it wont be hub-centric and would just be riding on the studs/lug nuts.

does anyone have more info regarding this issue. ive hunted for a few days and havent been able to find anything about center bore hub sizes or anything...

I have a set of RX8 wheels in my garage. If you need some dimensions off them, just let me know.

I don't have my Lara anymore so I didn't try fitting them on it. (But I do have my Gen2's Enkeis on the RX8 now.

wanna sell me your rx8 wheels?

anyways, after learning what center bore size was and stuff, i ran a search on rx8club.com and search on our own forum

rx8 center bore: 67mm
solara center bore: 60.1mm

anyone have disputing information? i guess what this means is that i will need hub centric rings to make the wheels fit properly on our hub as well as spacers to reduce the offset from 50 to 35, and then roll the fenders to eliminate rubbing. my question is, do they make a hub centric / spacer combo ring, or do you buy these two things separately. and how do you know exactly what to get? do i just run a search for 'solara hub centric rings'?

LOL - Nope. Planning to get some winter / rain tires for the stockies. The Enkeis have the summer tires.

Per the PM I sent, the center cap on my wheels are 56mm. I also confirmed that the wheel is a 18" x 8". I forgot to confirm the offset though.

By the way, if the RX-8 wheels you pickup still have the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitoring) valves, please let me know.
