seriously though....buy a torque wrench and some boots with spikes in them so u can change them urself in the snow hahaha

i tireracked his car. it says his bolt pattern is 114x5 nor 114.3x5..

i wonder. would they still fit then??>.

bolt pattern doesn't matter as long as his are 12x1.5 it'll fit

u want to know the thread pitch which is 12X1.50 and his car uses that as well since its a mitsubishi so ur all set
u just need 4 locking lugs

M12x1.5 is the size of the lug nut where it gets threaded to the stud.

Our cars use M12x1.5... those eclipse's use the same so you're good to go.

I would invest in a set of mcgard locks just in case so it wont get stolen. they run about 35 bucks for a set of 4. one for each wheel. just search for mcgard m12x1.5 on ebay.

mmm....i dunno it really depends on ur area
basically what i think ur getting will deter most theives since u need an adaptor to undo the lugs ur getting
but the locking onse have a "key" which is specific to ur lug
does that make any sense?

Personally, even for stock rims I would recommend a set of uniquely-keyed rims, but then again I've been living in places that has the occasional cholo, which my old car (thankfully my SenCrap) has been a prank target twice.

Obviously our cars have a grand total of 25 lugs... 1 of the 5 from each should have a unique key one, which means that instead of a standard lug (perfect hex), secured one (rounded and thinner, for instance), fixed key (where there is an equilateral groove) that a person REALLY after your rims can get easily, it has an unusual pattern that is hard to duplicate and would only turn the bolt when the grooves in the lock correctly matches up with the indentations in the key.

The rest: feel free to leave them unlocked, but the other type that you can get 20 of is optional.

Hey Jeff,

i'll be a new guy that's trying to help you out. It's probably too late to change your mind though, but i'll try to re-iterate what those guys are saying. I looked up these "gorilla" lug nuts that you are talking about to see what they are. Simply put it, they are "super strong" and high-quality built lug nuts. So basically, this means they won't break or chip when you use a lot of force to take it off or put it on. This type of bolt is essentially the same exact stuff any of us have on our car, but only STRONGER. This WILL NOT prevent theft, as crooks can still jack up your car, use a standard socket, take off the lug nuts and then your wheels. Makes sense?

Now i'm not telling you to throw away all 25 of those bolts, i'm just saying you can replace 4 of those bolts... with these



These are what the guys are trying to tell you about. I'm not sure you've ever seen them, I have. Basically, in order to those bolts off, or put them on, you need that special "key" on the right. It'll fit over the special bolt, and then you can just use the socket on the other side of the "key". Only YOU will have this special key, and rarely will another would-be theft have a key to use on yours. It'll cost you bout $40, but it'll buy you peace of mind that your wheel won't get jack.

and lastly... your new rims already came with tires? and you're taking it to a place to swap it for you? haha, what for? you're a funny guy Jeff ... this can literally be done in 10 minute in front of your house.

^^^ haha, you're right... us spoiled SoCal people right? working on our car year-round? Able to sport summer tires year-round? ahhhh, how nice. The only snow we'll get is the snow we WANT to get... (i.e driving up to Big Bear, etc...)
