Synthetic Oil on a high milage 1mz.

Dawgz, I just saw another thread of yours dug up regarding engine oil sludge.

It appears Toyota serviced your engine for this issue recently, so no need to flush engine at all.

For future reference, the oil flush cleans some of that crap out.

Anyways, you should be good to go.

nah, it hasnt been serviced for that...im going tomorrow (or i guess today (sunday) ) to pick up eye8pussies (King) and drive to ASG14's house, were gonna chill and king is gonna gonna look by taking the front valve cover off and replace the gasket when done.

So ill know if i have sludge later tomorrow.

i get a good deal on it at work so... any one know anything about amsoil?

Amsoil is a Group 4/5 true synthetic with a solid add pack. Good stuff, you should be happy with it.

i would be very intersted to look at these pics Dawgz...

My car is at 190,000 Km.. i bought it when it was at 180.

Next oil change I will switch to synthetic and maybe do an engine flush.

It's probably a tad better due to the fact that it's a true synthetic rather than a purified crude base. Realistically, if you still change your oil in regular intervals (around 5K miles or a bit more is fine) you will not notice a difference between them. If you run your car a bit longer between changes, the Amsoil may begin to outperform the Mobile 1 by a hair.

$4 a qt is very reasonable.

I also live buy using Mobil Oil. I always used the Mobil 7500 semi synthetic oil in my car. Although recently Autozone stopped stocking it so it force me to switch to fully synthetic. Does anybody know if they discontinued the Mobil 7500 oil?

On a side note Rolls Royce only uses Mobil oil for their gas turbines. They use a fully synthetic oil call Jet II. This is some good stuff. I really handles high temps well.... I spoke with a rep. from Mobil about their oil before because I was looking for cheaper substitutes and they advised us never to change oil types or brands without doing a flush or at all if you can help it because gas turbines are very complex engines. Im sure the same can apply to cars as well, but probably does not have the extreme consequences as a jet engine will. Just some advise
