A separate torque convertor? Can someone explain this to me? I took my car to JiffyLube to get a transmission flush, do you think they also serviced my separate torque convertor or only the auto tranny itself? I didnt know this, gettin worried now...
The I4 has a seperate Torque Coverter, you will need to drain the fluid seperately from it and add new one using a suction pump because the fluid in the TC is seperated from the fluid in the tranny.
You will have to ask them whether they've done it or not. You can do it yourself if you have a 5mm hex drive, a wrench and then you will need to go to Toyota to buy a metal gasket for the TC (that gasket is the side gasket, it's different from the Torque converter drainbolt gasket). Once you open it up (assuming your car is on level ground), stick your finger inside and see if it's bright red, take a sniff and you shouldn't be able to smell any burnt smell. If it's not bright red or if it smells like it's burnt, they didn't change it.
