how 'bout the belt size part number happy?

I use the trd oem belt. It fits good so no need to buy smaller belt.

PS: my sc is the 1st gen that does not have tensioner.

so i can just swap the pulleys and it will be okay? if i remember correctly, one of the guys here said that it kept slipping until they put on a slightly smaller belt. i already have the TRD belt on the 5.5 pulley, but i thought it wouldn't work with a smaller pulley.

oh! and my kit comes with the tensioner, if that helps any

You can use the OE belt, but it will slip a little. The smaller belt is the best bet. Mine also has the dynamic tensioner, so I've been through this already.

That is what I heard, the Sc w/ tensioner need smaller belt.

My is 6.2 psi pulley so it's even smaller and dont need to get a smaller belt.

I too am starting to experience the belt slipping with 6lbs pulley. Its annoying as heck too when its not pulling as hard as it was when I first changed the pulley. I have the dynamic belt tension.

So what is the exact size belt for this 6lbs. pulley?

I have a 5.5 and for a year used the belt from the 4 and it does work. But I met up with Rod (UltimateSolara) who is running a 7 and he noticed my belt was vibrating more than his.
I swapped to a shorter belt and the vibration is gone and the SC is much quieter under WOT. It was a $30 part and I'd reccomend changing it even thought the other one works.

Rod (7lb) and I (5.5lb) both use the Dayco Polycog 5060870 with tensioners, I ordered mine from Checkers, not sure where he got his.

HEY HAPPY.... if you could please explain how i would go about using the GRIP WRENCH to uninstall and install the pulley.. A step by step would be great for a newbie like me...

use the puller to remove it or tap it with a mallet

DO NOT USE AN IMPACT GUN!!!!

The input shaft has three small pins that are inserted into a plastic coupler and then there are three pins that are attached to the primary impeller shaft.

If you use an impact gun you can shear those pins right off. I have seen this more then once.

The best tool to use is a lever type oil or fuel filter wrench to lock the pulley still while you take the nut off with a regular wrench.

You can use the same lever wrench to hold the pulley still while you torque reinstall and torque the pulley nut. The torque should be 40 lb-ft.

The new "Super Grip" URD pullies should be ready very soon for the Camry applications.

dun worry about it, i did the same thing... (but only b/c happy aggies said he did this like that) so you need to get a puller. go to sears and you'll find it, if not, ask one of the salesmen there to help you.

okay guys. i just bought one of these crappy things last night and i done snapped that sucker. the rubber belt on the wrench just gave away. i'm in the middle of swapping pulleys right now. i bought a pulley, but i still can't get the nut in the middle off, so it's kinda useless right now.

I NEED TO GET THAT NUT OFF, HELP!?! ARAGHGHGHGH

I used a impact wrench to tighten the bolt on the pulley back down.. no problems.. u just can't be a freak and go at it for a long time

so does anyone else know how to remove the pulley bolt without using an impact gun or a grip wrench?

maybe i just bought a crappy brand with a piss poor rubber grip...
