How much additional hp and torque do you guys think that you'll get from your I4's? It sounds like this would be a fantastic upgrade if you also have a supercharger. I was talking to Jose today about the status of my headers, and I told him that I had read about the Solara I4 project. He said that supercharged cars might need a different design. You might want to talk to him about that. You wouldn't want to buy headers and then supercharge the car later and have to get different headers.

He said he can rig up something for the S/C people, but it would cost a few hundred more.

He said we can get a lot of gains (w/ a S-AFC) because of the amount of space he has to work with. He can make longer pipelines to gain low end torque while still increasing high end =D

Wait, so if I get this header now, installing the TRD Supercharger wouldn't be the best thing? I dont get it. If it's a header that helps ease the exhaust flow, why would that not be a good thing for a supercharged system? Please explain. I'd really like to put my downpayment if this upgrade is interoperable with the supercharged 2AZ-FE setup.

perhaps the s/c would not benefit for the NA application header.

made for one thing, but not another.

Once reason why no one wants to touch our cars for a turbo is.... that we a electronic throttle bottle instead of a throttle cable.. its hard to make custom work with electronic throttles..

good luck tho..

Is it going to be the shape of the headers that is going to hinder the Supercharger installation? What is it then? That's the only cause I could see why the jpp headers and supercharger cant work together.

If that's the case, then I will have to wait until I install the Supercharger. That way, someone could create headers that will work with the Supercharger. Sorry.

the headers will flow outward toward the front of the car and not interfere with the bar that runs across the engine

the only difference is how much boost you want to run. That will alter the headers slightly.

Who interested in the headers want to be supercharged? That's a better question. Then we can make a supercharged header (but we all have to agree on the same amount of boost) instead of a n/a header? if so, we'll just have to wait...

eh, up to you

That's right. But have you seen the Scion TC (2AZ-FE)'s supercharger? It's like the RIPP Supercharger, sitting above the headers. That's why I think it is the shape of the headers that might potentially hinder the Supercharger installation. Damn, I really want to get this deal but I don't want to regret it in the future when I get my hands on a supercharger.

GOOD and BAD news!

The TC Supercharger does NOT fit on the 2AZ-FE. The 2AZ-FE is changed in the TC. Compare the pics and you will see.

Also, we called TRD and they said the 2AZ S/C should work for the Gen 2 Solara. The engine is slightly different between gens.

So yea... who wants Gen 1.5 2AZ-FE headers?

I'm gonna call TRD back to make sure... just in case the guy we talked to doesn't know jack shi...

hmmm... looks like I'll be getting a non-Toyota car this year. Something fun to play with. I'll still keep my Solara though for a daily beater.
