Without changing the internals, what do you guys think would be the maximum power (crank) a 2AZ-FE could pull before exploding? I've always been curious about that engine.

Looking at other 2.4L engines that have been boosted, it would be awesome if the 2AZ-FE could also pull the same capabilities.

(yes, i am also aware that it's not suppose to be a performance engine in the first place.)

The 2AZ should handle SOME abuse some not too much. Most of the "FE" F for Fuel Efficiency, E injection (not carb) are designed as daily engines.

1MZ-FE, 2AZ-FE, 5S-FE

while the G engines are designed for performance gains

2JZ-GE/GTE, 4A-GE, 3S-GE/GTE, etc

The G pistons are made pretty damn solid, but can still get better. The 2JZGE has pretty good pistons but are still not forged as tough as the GTE pistons because the GE wasn't a turbo model.

I would think that we can take about a little more abuse than the 1MZ pistons can take (due to our compression)
1GR-FE ftw!
