Wiring: Three Optima Yellow Tops

the blue top has more cranking and more reserve cranking power than even the yellow top. plus since the blue top has extra post you casn isolate your audio system from the main battery...so in case something happens everything doesnt go out all at once. only problem is tha the posts are reveresed.

Thats not true!
The optima yellow top and blue top produce EXACTLY the same amount of power.

CCA: 750 amps
MCA: 870 amps
There is no reason to pay more for the marine. I have dual posts on my yellow top D34/78 also.

If you are looking for straight power get a red top. The CCA is 800 and the MCA is 980.

The differences between the red top and yellow/blue top:
Yellow/blue = deep cycle starter batteries. You can deep discharge them over 300 times and still have no problem. They also respond very quickly to a charge.
The red top is a high performance battery which yields better performance but is not deep discharge.

If you constantly run your battery dead, yellow top is for you. If you have a high performance system, but usually play it with the car on, red top is for you. The only reason for a marine top is if it is going to be exposed to water.

I really dont want to rerun my wiring, but im hitting 45K now and I think its time to change it up.

I guess ill search for this Orange top (Red top for our cars, right?) I think I need the red top over the yellow top anyways, since I seldom run my car with the engine off. Red/Orange tops got more cold cranking amps, and a longer warrentee too. i dig the yellow color more, but I think orange probably better for what I do with it anyways. I think its cheaper too.

The Orange top is confirmed to be a drop in right? Last thing I wanna do is search high and low for this and find out I need to rerun the wires anyways.

If I cant find it, Ill just take a good look at the DIY and see if I wanna try reruning my own wires, or to just get some other non-optima battery thats a drop in.

The orange top will work.

I bought my yellow top from them and they were great.

I also compared the pictures of red vs orange and they are reverse polarity.
