I would have taken an unpainted one, its irrelevant to me. I was using it for a mold to make one out of carbon fiber. ARRRRRRRGH! Please let me know if you get the buy out going, they are proberly selling all those side skirts that were off sized =0p

hey wortown, are you looking to make a one off carbon fiber kit or more of a production line?

Hahaha, wasn't goin to let this out yet, but...

well i have already talk to a company here in so cal that is making a CF replica of the trd kit. They might be using my kit to make the mold. As of right now they are unsure about the durability so ill see what happens.. and what they say when i meet with them again next week.

talaznfoo,

Thanks for the advice. All the feedback here has brought me to my senses on these Ebay fiberglass kits. There's no way I'd buy one now.

Out of curiosity, what specifically was the problem with it?

Thanks
Steve

yup

Postby talaznfoo » Sat Oct 02, 2004 5:13 pm

yup....drove over a tire on the freeway, my front left lip broke into pieces, unknown exactly how many, but by the time i got home and checked, i only had 2 piece, each of them is a size of a credit card, which was still there b/c of the bolts n screws. n my leftside sideskirt and rear kit were barely hanging on and draggin on the floor.

Man, if you hit tire on the freeway it doesn't matter what your GE kit is made of, unless it's steel. :)

yea man. that's wut im saying. even ur bumper would be in pieces. Let's say u hit a bump on the road with ur sideskirt, either the real kit or the fiberglass kit is gonna be messed up. Doesn't matter what material it's made of. You just got to be careful if u got a kit period.

 Well, while I'm down getting the engine rebuilt I've been working with my GE kit. I got some really nice CF like material and covered the front two pieces of my GE kit with it. With a little patience, some soap and water and a hair dryer I must say it look real nice.

I think I'll do the whole GE kit!! 8)

Well. I tried to get in contact with Rebecca at molly designs but she is on vacation. I talked to molly himself the other day and we had a pretty good conversation about the kits left in the warehouse.

He told me to talk to Rebecca when she comes back on 10-12 and we'll i can discuss with her what she can offer us. I'm working on alot of other deals at the same time right now so if i dont get a change to response to this right away i apologize. But Ill keep you all posted.

Hope i can work out another deal for you guy and gals that didn't jump on the last GB.

but for now just hang on tight and enjoy the ride.

Regards,
Kenny
