stinger is good, im sure they make one, if the most youll ever gonna do is two amps you want one that will hold two fuses thats all, im personally into monster cable, and so far im up to 1500 for their stuff, as far as speaker wire, are you going to each speaker or do you want to shortcut it?

Ouch gunman that hurts. Are u saying my amp is an orange? j/k. I think my Amps are almost comperable to the Eclipse in sound quality as well as current draw. My 4 ch. Alpine is the largest/best 4 ch. V12 Expert series that was made (mrv-f505), and my sub amp is the largest/best regular V12 2 ch. amp (mrv-1002) made for that model year of 1999. The expert series has 2 x 25 amp fuses, and the sub amp has 2 x 30 amp fuses. Anyway, just wanted to say that its not exactly apples and oranges; more like granny smith apples and red delicious apples. ...or something. :fadein:

Stinger Wire

Postby MNSolara » Thu Oct 17, 2002 4:52 pm

I just used 4 Awg Stinger wire on my new system. Really nice stuff. I decided to purchase the "Pro Power" kit because it included pretty much everything but the wire for the remote run to the amp oh and also the rather large ground wire I needed. The Stinger kit setup ran me $75 and the 17' Hyper Series Interconnect ran me $25.

Back in the day Phoenix Gold was great wire but I took a vacation from systems so they may be a "has-been"...no clue.

In any case...don't go cheap on wire because it'll probably bite you in the arse later on. So you have to drill a bigger hole in the firewall...big deal. Just don't forget to install the grommet the first time, like I did. =)

I would have to say that capacitors were one of the best additions to my system. They help soo much and look good. I have a few pics up, but many more to come. I have run 4 gauge the whole way and it seems fine so far. I will upload pics of how i ran the wires also, found a way so you dont have to drill through the firewall. My escort passport 8500 radar detector also doubles as a voltage monitor so i'm always seeing what our cars can do. The best i have ever hit is 14.1 volts. Usually i am at 13.8 without A/C and during regular driving. The big thing to watch for is when u have the system up, A/C on full, and headlights on. you can dropas low as 11.5 volts which is extremely dangerous. Do it once and do it right
