yeah I was thinking about converting, but I dunno.. I could just rebuild it w\ my buddy, and in 3 days tops, the tranny could be completly rebuilt and losing lots less horse at the tranny... so I dunno.. kinda all depends

read that guys page, and he was pulling codes... It kinda bothers me that the computer still thinks that it is an auto... I mean... there has to be something that the computer does w\ the tranny and reflects on teh engine or something... I dunno... all he did for wiring, was made sure the ECU thought it was in Neutral, and hooked the sensor up by splicing 3 wires, or seomthing like that, so it knew to turn the reverse lights on... I dunno. .seems risky.. but woud be a fun project

Yes, I've looked into upgrading the Torque Converter as well. But then, with a 5 speed, you have shorter gears and every shift will put you back into powerband unlike the AT where the RPM will drop to around 3.5k when you shift from 1-2. Not to mention about the potential of an added LSD which will help you launch the car and also pull you through a corner.

When I turn and accelerate at the apex, I lose a bit of time there because one of the front wheels is bound to have less traction than the other when cornering. Without a LSD, the power is sent to the wheel with less traction which causes a bit of unwanted spinning.
