Yeah. The caliper brackets will work from any gen 3 camry with the V6 engine, preferably already with twin piston calipers, but I think the single piston bracket will work too. Anyways, pull from any 1995-1997 Avalon V6 or a 1994-1996 Camry V6. As for calipers, I pulled a set of calipers off of a 4 cyl camry, and they gave them to me for free and I used those for my core trade in, that way I get to keep my stock calipers just in case. Note...the 4 cyl camry brackets will not work, they are too small. There is a pic on the other page that compares the V6 to the 4 cyl. Oh yeah, and to answer your other question, I got my reman'd calipers at autozone. 56.99 a piece, plus the 37 dollar core charge which was taken off since I already had the calipers with me. Just be sure to order a set of pads for a avalon/camry and not a Solara. Oh yeah, and don't buy any pads from autozone. They have a terrible selection for a 1996 Camry V6.
As promised... more pics. I went out today and mocked up my brake set up to make sure everything fit alright with out modification before I went to my friends shop to do the install. Everything fit perfectly. Just like factory. Check it out.
Here is what I started with:
And with my rotor: They looked salvageable to me.
Here is the size difference in pads, one of my old ones was almost completely worn to the metal. LOL
The little lip you see below, on TOP of the pad in this shot, is whats left of the pad. This was the pad on the outside of the caliper.
This was the inner pad, and is reversed compared to the other shot, and the pad material is on the bottom of the pad.
Here is the entire setup in place, looks pretty good IMO, bolted up great.
and last but not least, it fit behind the wheel just fine.
More pics when I do the install, oh and another quesiton for you guys, should I make a tutorial out of this or is it too straight forward for that?
