I just found this and thought it might be a good solution for those of us who's later model cars use the air/fuel sensor and not an O2 sensor. Its a cheaper alternative to a wideband setup offered by AEM

I'm just not sure if its a wideband or narrow band. Any thoughts?

I didn't see a price on it and didn't see if it was a wide-band or narrow-band unit but if it is cheaper, most likely it is a narrow-band. The difference between the 2 is the narrow band is accurate right at 14.7:1. When the mixture drifts away from that even a little, it becomes inaccurate and readings will fluctuate wildly. That's why if you've ever seen a narrow-band Autometer A/F gauge installed in a car and it just sort of bounces all over the place it makes it totally useless.

The better way is with the WB setup like the AEM. However, I have a set of Autometer Ultra-lites and want to keep the same look and a useable display. The PLX Devices WB unit that I have also has an available WB-NB converter so that I can display the steady readings of a WB sensor on a NB Autometer display. -JoeB

*EDIT* I just called K&N and asked. It is a narrow-band setup and the retail price is almost $250. -JoeB

it only has one wire, so i am sure it is narrow band. you can buy any O2 sensor and connect with the A/F gauge.

if you want wide band, they are usually 3 & 4 wires for heat bank.
