im stock too cept for the trd strutbar, and shortshifter. when my clutch went i opted for a clutchmasters stage 3. when you get used to it it shifts smooth, just takes some practice. gonna miss the stock softness i garntee. when you slow down and are forced to move from 2nd gear, i myself always rattle the car. gone 1500 miles on it and still cant use it properly

I have a Clutchmasters Stage 2 and I have only good things to say about it. It's just as smooth as stock, and has a lot more holding power. If you're not really thinking about upgrading your power, even a Stage 1 would probably be fine. I wouldn't go to Stage 3, though, unless you're thinking about seriously upgrading your power.

How is clutchmaster stage 1 like? does it feel just like oem?
how much it cost? i know that the stage 2/3 cost about $600
I haven't seen/hear anyone in here with a cm stage 1 kit yet, i was also told that SPEC clutch are pretty good(price is a lot cheaper then cm)

Since Stage 2 feels just like stock, I'm sure that Stage 1 does, too. I just figured that it might be a little less expensive than Stage 2. I don't know anything about the SPEC clutches.

Just got off the phone with clutchmaster, they recommend me getting a stage 1 which is just under $400 and for stage 2 it's $575.
both stages 1 & 2 have 70% over oem holding capacity.
would stage 1 last as long as stage2?

You might want to recheck those holding capacity numbers. I'm pretty sure that the Stage 2 clutch has a significantly greater holding capacity than Stage 1. That's what you're paying for. Stage 1 still has a much greater holding capacity than OEM, however. In terms of longevity, I'm sure that Stage 1 will last at least as long as Stage 2. I think that when you get to Stage 3 and 4, the clutches tend to wear out a little faster because of different designs and friction plate material.

those holding number is actually right on clutchtmasters's home page.
so bascially stage1/2 have 70% vs 110% on stage3
i was told that if the car does not plan to get power mod in the future a stage 1 will do just fine for bone stock motors.
i will most likely just go with stage 1 since it's cheaper and will sure last longer then oem clutch

You are correct. I checked the website, and it's the way you described. I had been under the impression that the Stage 1 had less clamping force, but it seems that the biggest difference is in how long it lasts based on materials used. I'm sure you'll be fine with the Stage 1.

I finally ordered the clutchmaster stage 2. It cost me about $550 from a local shop. Didn't want to go with stage 1 since no one in here have it. most people in here is stage2 or some stage3. Let's hope its as good as you say it is cdssolara =)
