that's a dissappointment, really wanted one, since K&N filtres are about $35-40.

K&N is just as good.

plus the "drop in" type filters retain better low end vs cone filters.

Little slow here..But how come cone only give us high ends? Also would just taking the WHOLE (the bottome filter holder and that small izzle pipe) bottom box out of the fatory intake give us both low and high? ahaha.

A certain amount of restriction is needed to maintain the pressure inside the intake, which in the case of the drop-in (k&n), provides low end power. The cone is so free-flowing that it makes none of the pressure, hence no low end power. However, the upside is that at the upper RPM range, the engine needs more air to make power, whereby now the free flowing cone can provide the needed air flow (and the drop-in, with the added restriction, begins to fade in air flow and power). At least that's how I understand it...

I wonder what the HP numbers are. When we took June's car for the Injen short-ram, we got the dyno from the K&N drop-in. I'm just curious what the '04 would dyno with the stock filter. We got around 10-14 HP with the short-ram, so would the drop-in give about 2-3 or 3-4 HP?

In that case someone needs to go invent a drop in multirev cone filter haha.

The HKS filter will get you 4-5 HP; are you assuming the stickers will give you another 2 or 3? :drinking:
