Ok, I've seen some links on here that show you were to buy pillar mounts. However, i cant find a 2 hole 2 1/16 GREY pillar mount. Can I just paint a black one? Im putting in a Trans Temp guage as well as a Volt guage to protect my Alt. due to my listening habits. Im sure ill be asking electrical questions once the job gets under way.

Thanks,
ps, some of you have really done your homework with their rides...keep it up......who says a solara is a chics ride?!?! haha ----i say that cause theres so many ladies who drive these cars...

You can just paint it.

Sand it down with a fine grit sand paper to scuff it up a little, then paint.

Autometer makes a nice dual gauge pod for the apillar

You can get the autometer dual pod for the Solara for $21.90 from eGauges at http://www.egauges.com/vdo_acce.asp?Subgroup=Toyota_Solara&Cart=. I ordered from them and they were great. If by chance you have the beige interior, you will find it hard to match. I took a piece of my interior to a local shop that supplies paint to most of the paiting shops in my area. They mixed the color and have it on record. Call McHenry Automotive Paint and Body Shop Supplies @ 888-695-5588 or email @ mchenrypnt@aol.com. I went 2 steps further than just painting it. I used bondo and molded the dual pod into the a-pillar. Then before painting it, I used another spray that is a paint prep. It helps the paint to stick better. I wash mine and it never flakes or fades. Have you seen that in people's car a year or 2 after they use interior paint? :o -JoeB

no i haven't seen the interior paint after time....nice ride by the way, very clean....i am wondering if its worth it putting in tranny temp and voltage guage...im beginning to think that they would only be useful for boost monitoring and things of that nature.

I have the guages already and just need the pod, but im thinking ill put it on the back burner til i get the suspension done.
