You would want a 6psi pulley, anything more the compression ratio gets too high and gains because useless. check pulleyboys.com as thats where most people have gotten their pulleys

Is it necessary to have a s/c to get a pulley, and wihtout a s/c does it increase the psi of the engine?

If not, how much power would a pulley add? (i know there are different sized pulleys, so the more info the better!)

Actually most people who've gotten their smaller pulleys are from Jim@Foreign Affairs up in Oregon.

I think you've gotten underdrive pulleys confused with upgraded pulleys for the s/c. As for underdrive pulleys, I wouldn't even bother with those on any Toyota engine.

Pulleys

Postby Chef Solara » Sun Nov 17, 2002 7:33 am

I just upgraded to a 7.5 PSI pulley for my S/C
But i had to get a apexi S-AFC and a new fuel pump. So if you want to upgrade the eighty dollar pully plan on spending five to seven hundred more.

I've seen Jim's name mentioned a couple times and Foreign Affairs but I can't seem to find any contact info. I even made the mistake of typing "Foreign Affairs" in Google. You can imagine what a mess that was! I'm not ready to get the pully yet but I'd like to start looking into them. Anybody have any contact info for him? Thanks, -Joe

You're confusing Ericsol with Jim@ForeignAffairs. If you want to contact Jim, his email address is ForeignAffairs@aol.com. I have one of his pulleys. They are good, but they aren't all that inexpensive unless he has a group buy going. I think they go for around $125 on a group buy, and almost twice that amount normally. Pulleyboys price is around $80, if I recall.

By the way, one other issue that you need to consider is the octane of your premium gas. Here in California, premium is 91, and a lot of people here have had problems blowing their knock sensors. I have had some problems with mine, and I'm only running 5.5 psi. If you live in a state where you can get 93, increasing your boost will be safer.
