I'm not sure I want a supercharger. I want one, but I think I'd rather spend the money on upgrading the sound system or wheels.

Rite now the S/C is on sale for $1850 shipped, worth every penny imo.

What about the 4 banger?!?!

Postby MNSolara » Wed Nov 13, 2002 9:42 am

What really sucks is that I bought my 99 about 3 years ago and didn't have knowledge of the S/C...

Now I'm stuck...I wish someone would make a non-custom turbo or SOMETHING! I found out that someone had a Turbo made for their 4 banger and it ran them around 4,500...

I'll buy an SRT-4 before dumping that much loot into my solara, as much as I love it!

The TRD supercharger is only available for the V6. Apparently, there is a possibility that a supercharger may be developed for the I4. Check out teamsc3's forum for news on that.

As for whether it's worth it, that's pretty subjective. Even with the supercharger, the Solara is never going to be a muscle car. However, the additional power does make it more fun to drive, if you like a little extra adrenaline rush. At less than $2,000, it's a pretty awesome deal. If appearance and/or sound is your thing, then it might be better to spend the money on other upgrades.

Yes Indeed.

I did know that the S/C was only for the 6 cylinder otherwise my comment would not have been made.

Have a good one.
