I've got a 2002 SE V6, Rainforest Pearl...

So far, I'm running stock other than my system, silverstars and a drop-in air filter. I want to do the SolaraGuy special - struts, shocks, TRD kit, s/c, exhaust, HIDs... but I have no clue what I want for rims. I'm thinking that with the three-stage paint, my car would look best with chrome rims versus powdered. From the research I've done, 17" rims will offer the best balance of looks and functionality - I don't trust the crappy Texas roads around here and don't want to take any excessive risks with the rims.

What I'm looking for are some pictures and links, if possible, for different chrome rims, so I can get an idea of what I want. So far I've seen plenty of different rims but nothing that stood out as "I must have that!". I'm looking for something that looks good but classy (not gaudy). The five or six-spoke rims looked good powdered, but I don't know how they'll do chrome. I've seen the ones that have been cut, like with the round holes, and they look stupid in my opinion. Any pics or suggestions would be awesome. Thanks in advance. :)

Update:

I'm looking at some of the five-spoke Kazera rims, particularly the Kazera KZ-A Chromes...

I'll photoshop these tonight when I get home and see what they'll do.

One of the wheels is scuffed, if you are okay with that then cool. :)

Edit:

I'm looking at the Kazera KZ-V rims, partially because they're available in 17x7 and partially because they're, y'know, cheaper.

Will a 5x114 bolt pattern with a +40mm offset be anything I have to worry with on a 17" wheel, or can I just put them on and go?

if you decide on chrome...you gotta go bigger than 17s otherwise it'll look a bit strange...IMO 19 chrome will give you the best look...

but i say drop it before you move onto wheels...

if u go with rims, i suggest u chose white rims, it would look so good with the green. My friend has a green car with white rims, it looks hot. JUst a suggestion.

I know it's an hour and a half to Austin; haven't made the trip to DFW yet. There's a few of us here in TX, maybe we should have a mini Solara meet.

As for the size - between the roads around the southern half of San Antone, and the roads back home... I'm afraid to even go 18, let alone 19. Is this a well-founded fear or paranoia? If anyone else here with 18s can reassure me that as long as I'm a good driver, I'll probably be okay... I might look at those KZ-As again :D And about dropping the car... ideally, I'm going to do springs/strut towers/wheels & rims all at once. I think lowering or rims alone would look goofy. :-?

My personal Advice is drop your car first. DRive with that drop setup for awhile first and then decide on rims after that. That way you get use to driving the car dropped and when you get the rims, no scratching and all. :bday:

Don't get 17s tho! . . . do whatever you can to get at least 18s or 19s preferably. the fit a lot more plush with our cars.
