What else to get???

What else to get???

Postby that1mexguy » Sun Apr 03, 2005 8:36 am

Ok I'm really looking into getting a Supercharger within a few months, but I don't want to just get it and then have my engine blow up, my brakes go out on me, etc. so I'm trying to compile a list of "MUST UPGRADE" items so that I can do it all at once... for example, when I get it I want to already have:

1. Jim's fuel line upgrade
2. SAFC II
3. Bakes upgrade (rotors, pads and brake lines)
4. Jim's torque rod upgrade
5. ........

what else? what do you guys recommend as a MUST HAVE. I am not looking at "NICE TO HAVEs", but only items that are critical to keep my car running nice and smooth, or do you think that should do it?

The first 2 are ARE the MOST important . . . but I think that you most defnitely NEED Jim's Fuel Line Upgrade just to be safe . . . $200 now is well worth it rather than risking $600 on fixing shet. SAFC-II can only help you in tuning the air/fuel ratio better, so of course it would be useful as well but not as necessary as Jim's.

The only things you NEED are spark plugs and spark plug wires because it will be a pain to change them later. I would also get Jim's fuel upgrade to be safe. Everything else is good to go.

1. IK 22 plugs
2. Change pcv valve(while its all apart)
3. Boost guage to make sure boost is engaging.Just becuase you here it,dont mean you got it !

Depending on miles
1. go ahead and change alll belts, even the timimg belt prior to boost.
2. upgrade all vac lines. when the old ones crack or blow off you'll think its the SC f'n up!

All you really have to do is Jim's fuel upgrade. That's all I've done for over a year now and no prob's. SAFC in not really that important IMO, unless you want to change pulleys. If you have some mileage on your ride, you should change the spark plugs and wires now. If you don't, you'll have to pay to have the s/c removed and intalled again later.
