FSB Installation

Postby StockSolara » Tue May 03, 2005 9:37 pm

I was wondering does any know how to install the FSB. When I tried the last curve will get stuck with the rubber mount of the cross member. All I need to do is get that last curve over and it's in. I was wondering if anybody has any tips on how to do it? I tried searching but nothing useful came up but a lot of people telling to bring it to a shop. Shops were quoting me 100-150 for install. Man that is way too high so I still want to install it myself. Any tips is appreciated.

bwah ha haha, that bar was insane to get in. trust me, you jsut gotta jack up the car real high in order to play tetris with that bar to fit. take off both tires and for my car, the big rotors got in my way, didnt have to take em off, but i turned the wheel left to right to give a little bit of clearance at times. took 4hrs to install with help from my little sister haha good lucky dude

Yep. That bar is a royal pain in the butt. I have done easier jobs that involved much more complexity, for something so simple, it is insanely difficult to accomplish. Just be patient and work the bar around, you'll get it in eventually.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

i assume this is the WHITELINE FSB? yeah it's a pain to install it, you will need to pray the bar in/out, i had to loosing up the driver's side axle in order to get it out, when i took it out of my gen4 camry. (gen4 camry's suspension is idenitcal to gen1 solara)

I have no problem with removing or installing the stock FSB. The Whiteline FSB is giving me a headache. I am just going to wait for one day when I have a lot of free time than work on it.
