is their such a huge difference between SRI and CAI?

Those who have installed SRI, did you feel a difference or was it more placebo?

Im sure CAI, gives you some difference. Just confused because I went to one of the sites posted a couple days earlier that has the Injen SRI for 99 bucks and right under it the CAI for 239 bucks. Should I save my money and get that CAI?

Thanks in advance for your input.

CAI rules over all. Just dont drive it in floods or your screwed. Thats why lots of people buy SRI because its cheaper and not too much to worry about other then the car sucking in its own hot air.

It's my understanding that aftermarket intakes sacrifice low end torque. That's the one reason I won't buy an intake until I get forced induction.

But performance wise, is their a huge difference?

I did a google, and most say CAI is for lower band (low end torque) of the RPM and SRI is for higher (high end torque) band.

Someone even said CAI is better suited for turbos/supercharged rides.

Ok here is the low down. . . SRI the reason why people say its more for highend because it sucks in hot air off the line and you feel the lost of torque but when you start going faster more air will come in so thats when you feel more power. . . For the CAI you will have cold air no matter what so you barely loose any torque on low end and you actually gain power through out the rpm band. . . Injen doesn't make a CAI for our car it's only UPFD that makes the Cold Air Extension. . . So just buy the Injen SRI than buy the CAE from UPFD and you won't be disappointed. . .:D. . . As for another thing some people do have CAI that sit too low that is why they suck in water. . . As far as I know just don't drive through puddles and stuff and you should be ok. . . I know Astro has the octane front bumper which has big openings in the front and the splash guard removed and he doesn't have any problems with sucking in water. . . So that whole idea of how everyone is so scared of sucking in water. . . just becareful and don't be trying to see how much water you can splash up by going through puddles really fast. . . For the cheapest price on Injen SRI go to www.morepowerracing.com . . . I believe they're selling a polished on for like $184. . . Hope this helps you out on better understanding

Cool thanks alot Stock, but what/who is UPFD? And for that CAE how much is that normally?

So far the cheapest SRI I found was at this site, http://www.yakuzaracing.com/enter.html? ... lang=en-us @ 99 bucks for both polished/black.

here is another site that sell cheap Injen SRI as low as $130 (97-99 Camry I4) here is the link: http://www.hopupracing.com/inisshramint1.html

as for the yakuzaracing.com i heard they just got out of business. so i don't think the SRI is for sale anymore. but i'm not sure though..

Aww that sucks, if they are out of business, it would of been a steal. Too bad I got a V6, might as well save up for the CAI.
