Im sure this has been done before, or at least considered. I searched, Really....LOL. I don't have a body kit. I was wondering if holes could be cut in the bumper without ruining the paint job or the bumper? I know sounds weird, just wondering.

Anyone know where I could get some of the black metal material that is used to make all those custom grills?

I'm sure you can get the black mesh from a autoparts store or perhaps at Home Depot, just gotta look a lil harder for the right one.

If your worried about destroying the paint on your bumper, it depends what you plan on doing to it as in what you plan on cutting out of your bumper.......anything more then drilling license plate holes will probably require repainting.

I think if your going to cut your bumper up, your going to ruin the paint. Where would you the cut holes and why? the only thing I could see you doing is cutting the bar off that goes across the front of the car on the bottom. And then you would have to use some bondo to fill the holes there and then you would have to repaint it. I would say leave it alone and if you ever want to sell your car it wont be worth anything. Well I guess if its done right and it looks good it wont drop the value more.

I know this may sound stupid, but I have seen body kits around that have vents just in front of the front wheels. I was looking into a CAI and thought some custom air inlets there might look cool, If its done right. I know most people if they want more air they just remove the fog light or cut the fender liner. Im kinda attached to that stuff, (theres a long story there  ). Just a thought, might be too much of a pain in the !@#$%.

What about real slow with a fine tooth saw, or a dremel? any suggestions?

Ideas on attaching the grating?

^^^^ Send me a private messege and I'll let you know.

......the bumper is for a 1st Gen Solara.......dunno about shipping price but it should be a lot b/c it doesn't weigh much, more like just the size of it.
