Fender Rolling in Los Angeles

Fender Rolling in Los Angeles

Postby mailskobe » Mon Dec 12, 2005 1:39 pm

Hi All,
I used the search for about 20 mins and did not come up with anything. (May be I am gettin old :drinking: )

I recently installed 235X40X18 on 18X8 with 40 offset and there is a slight rubbing at the rear fenders.

Does anyone know any fender rolling shops in Los Angeles.

Thanks a lot,
Sko

go to any reputable wheelshop...they can do it for you pretty fast, shouldn't cost you more than 50 bucks.

steve at "the wheel shop" in the l.a area would do it for sure if you are lookin for specific shops

Hmm, your getting rubbing with 235X40X18... I've heard people go bigger without the rubbing, is it bad?

well it depends on number of factors:
Offset: i have +40mm
Wheel width: mine are 8

i previously had 235X40X18 on 18X7.5 with +42 offset and it did not rub except when there are a big dip and i had 5 ppl sitting in the car.

now, even if i have 2 ppl sitting and have a moderate the edges of the inside of the fenders touch the tires...

hope this helps.

if you want you can do it yourself...just get a pipe from home depot or a bat and stick it between your tire and fender and have some drive it slow(really slow)while you run the pipe along the inside of your fender..thats what i did and i have no rubbing problems.....thats what milt and i did..milt og socalara..mr z...

i see you milt..

I wouldn't use the Bat or Pipe method only because if you are not careful you can put waves or dents around your fender well. Also if you roll it too far you can also crack you paint. Not a pretty site IMO.

I rather pay someone to get it done correctly. I had mine cut and after they cut it they used a sealant on the inside to protect the metal so it wont rust. I've had it cut for about a year and yet to have a problem.

Like others would say. "You get what you pay for".
