Dash switch :: Camry to Solara and back.

Hey... I was looking at my parent's Camry and I noticed the dash looks EXACTLY the same.

Now, granted I haven't taken it apart and experimented but I was wondering if I could just to a switcheroo and plant their dash into mine and vice versa, the reason being their guages have white indicator plastic moving thing (that tells you your speed, rpm, etc.) and ours has an orange one. I have ultrawhite bulbs and it would look so much nicer with white indicators.

Does anyone know if it's possible?

Hahahha definitely not telling them...
But then again, if it gets jacked up, I'm dead.
So I'm asking again... anyone know aynthing about this??

Anyone have any 1st hand experience on it working?
I plan on doing this sometime but not until I have some evidence/proof.

I wonder if a scrapyard would know if the dashes were cross compatible. I have to wonder, however, if there aren't projects that might give you a higher return for your time with less risk than this one.

pythonjosh attempted the color lighted needles... it took him a while and LOTS of patience

bluesolara, you definitely have NO ROOM to fukk up in this project.... the needles are really sensative and theres PLENTY of ppl that could back me up on that

Yeah, screw that proj. I'm pretty over it all, I just want my fogs to work (found out it's not a bulb or fuse prob) so I'm doing Independents TONIGHT. Wish me luck!!!!!!!

Yeah all you have to do is sand the orange off slightly to shine out white.......
