It isn't too intimidating of a task if you want to tackle on. It took me and a friend about 10 hours working at a easy pace, while getting food in between. I kept track of all the parts that were taken off, so I know which ones to reuse again when called for. You'll definitely need a 3/8" torque wrench to set the proper tensions on all the nuts and bolts. Having a friend as a second pair of eyes really helps out. I felt the instant boost right afterwards, when we went out for a drive on the expressway. I wasn't mechanically inclined at first, but after reading up my Haynes and installing my suspension (and thereafter 2 other owners), the S/C would be another great learning experience. The installation manual is very adequate for DIYers, only part I was confused is the vacuum hose connections, that was only because I couldn't see straight after having spending most of day installing the S/C.
