Has anyone had problems with Vis hoods?

Has anyone had problems with Vis hoods?

As an afterthought(since my body guy already ordered the hood) I was just wondering if going with VIS for my hood was the way to go? Any complaints?

Thanks

VIS is a good known brand. If you're driving the car everyday, i'de def. suggest hood pins. I know 2 people that were driving and the hoods flew off the car ruining the front window and other damage to the exterior.just some advice..

the cf is gonna look hot on ur ride.

Before you put the hood on have it professional Clear Coated. The Gel coat that is on the hood from factory sucks.

Many members have had theres fade. I bought a used one that was faded... I had it on for 1 week and took it off...

I'm sure those with the hood will chim in... I know of a few that have had there hood faded and looking like crap after a yr or so....

Also hood pins are a good ideal.. I know ppls with hoods that have poped as well....

I've heard of people having trouble with fading, as well as warping from the hood supports if left out in the sun/heat.

A guy in my club had a VIS hood on his Z, left it in a parking lot on like an 85-90 degree day open at a show and couldn't close it afterwards because the latch didn't line up. To be fair though, thats a problem of carbon fiber in general, just be careful!

My VIS hood is on the way as well. Does it come pre-drilled for hoodpins?

No it doesn't. But I like how you can use the factory washers on the vis hood. I have the Fiber Images cf hood and didn't like the fact I had to relocate the washers.
