Y pipes are only in single exhaust systems. Dual exhaust systems use either an X pipe or H pipe. The theory is that when gasses pass across one side it creates a vaccuum to scavange the gasses from other side of the system. It makes for a more effecient exhaust.

The kit melted from the not so good job done on my last duals. Please notice these tips don't touch the kit. No sweat I got new parts.
