With the cold frost hitting us... Is it safe for me to go from my Cold air convertion back to short ram EVEN though my car was tuned with the SAFC with the cold air?

I still need to gun my car sometimes too.. SOOOO let me know.. Need to know asap.

it might weird up the settings since you would be getting hotter air from the engine bay. If anything, youll just be running lower hp since there is a temp difference.

Wait... forgot about the whole velocity change thing when you add a CAI, something about the air being faster through the longer tube than a short ram.

just do it man... haha

I couldn't see the hurt too much.....

there are two things to think about....

tuned to the cai - expecting cold air = more fuel to add to more air

change to sri - wamer air going in = easier combustion = not good....BUT it also means less air.... = good.

I'd say that it'll not make much of a difference except you'd make slightly less power

and do you have a wideband? if you do, then there's nothing to worry about as long as you keep an eye it

I think you'll be alright...it might make the car a little more laggy at times, but the computer should compensate a little.

well...here's another question....why do you want to take your cai off? are you afraid that the air will be too cold? beacuse the air will warm up as it reaches the engine bay and not be THAT much cooler enough to affect your tune...

or are you worrying about hydrolock? because it won't....

Ever seen an intake filter frozen with ice before? Driving around in freezing water will cause a full block of the intake.

As a temporary fix, why not wrap the intake filter up in a think towel during the night, then take it off in the morning before you start her up. Would that work until you figure out your problem? I assume this is a better option than pulling out the hose every morning.
