2001 LS 430 Brakes

I was just curious... My friend just bought a LS430 and is getting a set of stoptechs. Now would it be possible to use his stock brakes. It would be cool because they would look stock but would be way better. Sleeper... :evilbat:
Let me know if you know.
Thanks

Well they are four pot calipers up front so they are bigger. And the rotors are bigger. I say if its good enough for tom's celsior with appr350hp, Its good enough for a car thats atleast 1000lbs lighter. Just my logic. It shouldnt be hard to make them work. Correct me if Im wrong.
Thanks

You would need custom brake caliper brackets.
Cause a former member made some custom brake brackets for our cars to use Supra TT rotors.
But we would still use our 1 pot caliper.....
But if you do or are able to figure how to use the LS430 calipers let us know. :D

Not the same thing, that would still use our stock brake pads. He would also have to change the caliper to bring over the pad and the 4pot configuration.

Also if you go from a 1 pot to a 4 pot, I'd imagine you would need a different master cylinder.

In short, whatever steps he uses to put the stop tech in his car should probably be the same to put the LS brakes in your car. Its definitly possible, but probably an advanced job.

Easier isnt always better... Besides its not the destination. its the journey.
Also I rock the 16's I cant have huge calipers and rotors.
Thanks
I will consider it.
How much is a big brake kit for our cars B.T.W.?

Doesn't a BBK just include the same type of parts as if you took the entire brake system off another car? Which means its the same installation procedure. The only thing I think would be different is if they provide special brackets for mounting the new hardware to your existing hardware.

With a little research, found that LS430 Front brakes are 12.4" and front Camry/Solara brakes are 10.7". For comparison, Supra TT rotors are 12.8" and the Stoptech BBK is 13"

What's all this mean? Assuming the LS430 calipers are the same thickness as ours, front rotors will require at least a 17" rim.
