HI....I'm kinda new but I was just wondering if these actually work... They claim they raises the HP and saves gas. Doesn't sound bad right?, since the gas prices are so high now-a-days!!

I walked into an "As seen on TV" store the other day and i noticed this ....
http://www.vortexvalve.com/

It's sold for $100CAD ... i was like... WTF! lol ......

That looks like a bunch of nonsense. I wouldn't even consider that as a legitimate modification.

It seems like a discussion about these things comes up once a year... hey, it still sucks in 2006!

If you're looking for a cheap boost in gas mileage and performance, a K&N high-flow air filter will run you about $35, lasts a million miles, and will give you better low-end torque, top-end power, and (if you allow yourself to drive conservatively) better gas mileage.

Will it still suck in 2007?

I had a friend that got the Tornado. We got into a big fight over it. He adamantly said he could feel the horsepower increase when he hit the gas.
Well, there is *no* way to feel a 5 hp change. Besides, when you put this into your intake, its actually a restriction. How can a restriction increase your horsepower?

my buddy with an older v6 altima told me the same thing
i told him he was out of his mind. A little piece of metal aint gonna add any HP
we took his car to a dyno facility to test it with the tornado in and his oem filter in

the tornado adds less than 1 hp. Haha =P

the funny thing is, look at how little is invested into those products. The vortex thingy looks like a cut-up soda can, and the fuel ionizer is just a MS Paint illustration but no pic of a actual product. Wow, 46% increase huh?? So, I'll have 290HP at 38MPG in my Solara? SWEET, anyone that doesn't buy this is a fool!!!
