Gen 1 Grill Help

I wanted to do my grill diffrently, i need some help tho.

the stock grill is like this



and i want it to look like this





What would be the best way to do this? cover off the areas for the chrome i want to leave and spray paint the rest? the whole Middle POrtion will be cut out so i can put a metal screen over there, like chicken wire...sort of..and that will be black as well.

What if you cut the top horizontal bar too?

It looks like he did cut the top bar.
Would even a wire mesh stay put with such a big opening and no middle support?

no no the top horizontal bar will be black....

If you cut the top bar you'll lose the 3 bolts to where its held in place. Nothing will be holding it except where it clips in on the botton of the grill to the top of the bumper.

Cover the chrome area with Blue masking tape if your gonna spary it. I would opt. to just cut out the middle a do a mesh grill and/or color match the chrome area to your Solara.
