if you're gonna shave your door handles, then i would go with a more reputable alarm system. try the new viper out right now with the 2-way pager. or any DEI product will do just fine, in fact.

btw, shaving door handles: do you mean shaving the keyhole, or removing the entire door handle altogether?

I have to say that shaving the door handles is kind of a waste of time and money, but if your still going to do it then I would go with the Viper 790. I got it put on my car about 6 weeks ago and it is by far the best alarm I have ever owned. It comes with an LCD 2 way pager that will either ring or vibrate if your alarm is going off. It also has auto start and keyless entry that come standerd. I also got the trunk pop and window roll up/down option that was about 150.00 extra. In all the alarm installed was about 700.00$. I'm not positive but I think you can also get a discount on your insurence with this alarm.....

Its also illegal in NJ, not sure aabout CA. They make little switches that hook up to a small backup battery that you hide and it'll let you in if your battery dies, but thats also a huge security risk so its up to you

If your that clueless and you let your remote battery go dead then you deserve to be locked out of your car....

LOL, sometimes it isn't your fault though. What if your alarm starts going off while you are in a mall or something and it drains your battery. Or in cold weather a lot of times batterys that are on the edge of dieing stop working. The chemical reaction inside of them slows down too much because of the cold temperature and causes them to no longer produce the necessary voltage

remote batteries have a very minimal drain. even if remote batteries are WEAK, they still transmit the signal and will unlock your car. you could lock your car when the battery is weak and not even know it is weak...then you come back to your car and the friggin' remote battery is dead.
