I've noticed that since I've had my HIDs put in it seems as if the driver side HID light has a little more brightness to it than my passengers side..
It is because I sit on the driverside so I see more of it than the passenger side HID or is it because of reflector etc or anything else?

when I get out of the car at night and I look at the HIDs they look pretty much even and when I point my car at the wall and look at it the beam pattern/light cut off looks fairly similar..

anyone else have this "issue" or is it just a common misconception that the driver side is brighter when reality it is not?

Well the nature of both lights is that the beam is flat towards the left, then it tilts up 15 degrees on the right side to illuminate street signs and not blind people. Since the left side crosses with the right, it gives you that illusion.

yeah but i realize that it's just the angle I'm looking at it. no big problem now. just make sure your beams are even. height and everything.
