Aftermarket license-plate lights????

Postby SolaraBlue » Thu Aug 23, 2007 9:22 pm

id like to upgrade the stock bulbs to led's for my license plate housing. im wondering which way the bulbs are positioned, i.e. sideways, vertically, etc...
anyone have recommendations as to what led's to buy? pictures of them installed on your cars would be ideal.... :D
any help would be appreciated.

get hyperwhite leds. (basically, white leds)

size is 194 (same as your speedo cluster)

they are positioned a little sideways... pretty much diagonally outwards.
just look in the back.
they shine diagonally outward down. if u get what im saying.
i got my pair from pepboys lol, but hey it looks great and never had issues with it. or you can order some from superbrightleds.com
or wherever else u please.

Jeff is right you'll want to get bigger ones and from superbrightleds.com

I've ordered the 9 and it's too bright and makes hot spots because it's facing the side. Plus you have to squeeze it in a bit.

I never tried the 4 but they won't be as bright as the 6

This is what you'll want to order. Mine looks bad ass! I can't find the pic but trust me.

yeah mine are pretty much like that but they dont lihgt up my bumper area. just the license plate.
(but i bet it only shows that cuz of the pic. not real life)

honestly Blue, just go to Pepboys and buy those White 194 LEd bulbs u see on display. my friend did that for his camry and they look really good too. or get the ones that i pointed out for you. you can't go wrong either way.
