airbags

I myself am a big fan of airbags.... I know some of you don't like them, but I think they are what you need to complete the ultimate ride. Deep down most of you know that if you had the same fixed up car as somebody else and you pulled up along side that person and his car starts dancing you can't help but look....

Anyway, my question is wold you get airbags first before lowering your car, or do you do all the lowering and stuff before the bags or do it all at the same time(if you have the scrilla)....

Thanks for the help....

ummm correct me if im wrong but air bags replace the "lowering idea" ...especially if you go with air baffle struts...u wont need to lower the car with springs cuz the bags will replace them anyway! L8r moe :evilbat:

Airbags are great safety features! got them for my Passenger, Driver and Side imact! LOL

Airbag suspensions are dangerous for daily driven vehicles.

This might be a little OT and sound really stupid, but who cares, I'm going to ask anyway!

I know this is so not a good idea, but I've somehow developed this really bad habit in the past week of driving w/ my left knee leaning outward on the driver's door panel and the middle of the left side of my foot leaning on the seat where the seat ends (make sense??). Then i rest my elbow on the door where it meets the glass.

hahah...so, i have the side airbags, and I know the owner's manual says that you shouldn't lean your arm on the door.

Airbags scare me, so I'm afraid that I'm going to like lose my arm or leg or something if the side bags go off on me when i'm sitting like that. Where do the side airbags deploy from?? I always thought it was in the side of the seat, not the door?

HAHA krooked, you are crazy.

Airbags are a full suspension change, you won't need lowering springs

They are on the side of your seat. They just don't want your arm being smashed into your face when the side airbag deploys.

When i was looking in to getting air bags or air cylenders for my car. They said if it was goign to be a daily driver it would not be a good idea. Because of the struts are cars have on them they want handel all of the stress on them. If you wanna do adjustable suspention then they recomended hydro's (hack shack).

You are correct.
Your ride height is adjusted by varying the air pressure in the bags. Air baffle struts are the only way to go if you want a true air suspension. But if you want to make your car "dance", hydraulics would be a better option.

Yes Hydros are different than bags

Postby 01solarakid » Mon May 05, 2003 10:26 pm

Hydros are short for hydraulics which means that your car raises and lowers using hydraulic fluid in the shocks. Air bags use air (duh :) ) and they can't "dance" like hydraulics can.
