don't get injen it is not much more than a noise maker. GO CPE worth every penny. It was more than double the gain of my full cai.

I got my injen on ebay for a little over $200 shipped about a month ago and I like it... If youre going N/A with no tuning, then go with the CPE (if you can afford it), but if you plan to go supercharged the Injen will work fine for your needs.

Injen is a legit company that does a lot of testing and I trust their products- high quality from my experience. The one key difference is the CPE changes your fuel map- you would see the same gains from the injen with tuning IMO.

As for the difference between injen and an ebay short ram, it would probably just be higher quality, but the gains will most likely be about the same without tuning.

Supercharged V6 5-speed. $$ is not an issue. Power is.

You have it all wrong. The ebay intakes are bad for 2 reasons.

1 the pipe is too be and a lack of MAF customizer makes the maf read wrong and you drop power.
2 Most do not have ports for all 3 vacuum lines

The reason the CPE makes more power than injen is not just the MAF box but the fact that it retunes the ECU for a 3.5 inch pipe instead of a 2.75 inch pipe where the MAF sensor takes up near 50% of the inner area. Trust me I had both CPE is MUCH better.

Look at the pics.
Here is factory which is the same as injen.

and here is CPE.

I wasnt saying ebay intakes are nice... I dont really honestly have any experience with them. I have said it before and Ill say it again, I agree the CPE is a great quality product, but if Im going to tune anyway I dont need it- the injen will be sufficient.

And JMS- if you need to tell someone cost isnt an object on a supercharged v6 5 speed, it shouldnt be me- I built my car in 6 months, I know a thing or two about what things cost... I understand what youre saying, but you dont need to slam me like that.

The bottom line is MOST people arent going to put up $500 for an intake on solara guy- it just isnt going to happen. The injen is a tested and proven high quality product with a more reasonable price for people that may not want to spend that much money on the cpe, thats all Im saying...

What about Fujitsu (I think thats how its spelled) I've seen 2 or 3 intakes on eBay for Solaras by these guys. My friend has one on his Accord. Very nice intake. Good quality, and great sound.

At the point you are at, Damon, you are better off getting the SAFC2 or Split Second and adjusting your A/F.

Funny thing I just pmed DtotheC today about a similar question.
