Gauging Interest: URD Underdrive Pulley

I'm interested but $300 is too much. We should definitely look into getting one made at a machine shop.

It revs up quicker than before and helped the low end. I would rather put the money to a CPE but if this was a last chance kinda deal I would grab it.

I say we find a machine shop that can make them, if anyone has the specs, I cold talk to my brother who has had contacts in a machine shop, and see if they can manufacture them.

Im going to assume its the same size as the stock one, just lighter... Gonna go to a junkyard and see if I can pick one out. I was also looking at probably making a smaller pulley for the alternator, I found a spot that can take our stock alternators and have them crank out 140 amps on stock pulley. Highlander alternators go for almost $300, and the shop can do the upgrade for like $120... yeah, Imma do that too, but if I can find a smaller pulley, there's a potential increase of 10-20% of the amps.

So, obviously, if I find a shop to man the alternator pulley, I would ask if they could make the crank pulley.

If not, we're stuck to the URD units, which from what I gather are excellent, but I dunno about $300 for just a pulley... but hey, they charge that for the trucks though: http://www.urdusa.com/index.php?cPath=1 ... 3err08adr7

my 2 pennies.

Sounds like a plan, but it needs to be:

1. Aircraft grade 6061 T-6 aluminum billet.
2. CNC machined to .001" tolerances.
3. Bolt holes for the OEM crankshaft holding tool and puller.
4. Substantial weight reduction 2 lbs 10 oz down from 10 lbs stock.
5. Stock belt drive diameters.

Those three that are bolded are the most important things.

Yeah i like bold those main keys points, or else makin' a "lightweight" underdrive pulley not like how URD makes them would be worthless.
