XERD Headers and Y-pipe

XERD Headers and Y-pipe

Over the past few days I have been in constant contact with Eyal from XERD about their up and coming parts for our platform. Currently we are working out pricing and minor details which I will relay as soon as I find out. I am anxiously awaiting the dyno charts from their new products but they seem very confident that they will have no problem getting signifigant gains.

Heres what we do know so far:
  • It will be a full setup including headers and a y-pipe.
  • They will fit both the 5spd and auto.
  • They will come with a 3 year warranty and made of high grade stainless steel.
  • While a high flow cat is available it is not advised because high flow cats tend to be very sensitivewhen tuning a car and can cause a lot of problems. Your best bet would be to delete the cats.
  • The products will be available in the next few weeks. Dyno charts and pictures are anticipated before then

Although this is not technically a group buy we do need 15 members who are ready to order before XERD will finalize production. Pricing will be a maximium of $999 for the headers and y-pipe, with price breaks as more members get in on the deal.

Eyal has been very responsive with my questions and if you do have any more questions you can either post it on the forum or contact him at Xerdsales@aol.com

As a side note XERD is also developing a CAI which is expected to be around $200 and a full catback exhaust which should retail for around $599.

Yanks,

Ok, I'll bite; "high flow cats tend to be very sensitive when tuning a car and can cause a lot of problems." What do you mean by sensitive and what tuning problems might be encountered. I have been thinking of removing my cat to see how much hp it is costing me but I am worried about a CEL from the rear o2 sensor. Jim has a o2 simulater and I was thinking of getting it first before I try running without a cat.

Well more or less I am just relaying the information from Eyal but I too have heard of what he is talking about. You can still get a high flow cat that'll work, especially for someones car who is tuned so well like yours erics, but XERD was worried that someone would burn out the cat. I'm assuming by running too rich, and then complain to them like it was thier fault.

I am definately looking into the o2 simulator that Jim has because I plan to run a test pipe.

Are you running a high flow cat now or just stock?
