(Tein S-Tech/KYB GR-2 STRUTS) VS (TRD Springs/Struts)

Which combination should I get? The TRD set is the one for sale on this forum: http://www.zer0.info/solaraguy/viewtopic.php?t=4741

I would have to replace one of the rear TRD struts, b/c it's bent.

I have never heard of this company of struts. Should I be concerned?

Could someone comment on the ride comfort that I would experience with each combination? If the KYB struts aren't good, then how about if I got Tokico Blue struts? The TRD springs are progressively wound for ride comfort, but I hear the Tein springs are one of the best out there...I'm assuming that means performance.

Also, the TRD set is used, so how does that affect it's longetivity? Will I have to worry about them failing on me and needing replacements?

Please note that price is a very important factor for me, as I bust my butt for every dollar I earn.

I've got Eibach/KYB for about 2 years now and the ride is excellent. When cornering hard it handles great (I just need better tires). It's a bit stiff at times, but I really don't notice it much. The streets in San Fernando Valley can be rough at times, but overall I have no complaints.
Just make sure when choosing your setup look at the stance of the ride. I know that Eibach stance has the front a little higher, but I like it because when you come across a big bump the front end won't rub as bad when the motor comes down.

KYB has been around for awhile now. A friend had it on a integra with eibach springs. Handles great around corners.

I have the Eibach/Tokico setup for about 2 years with no problems. Great handling and makes the solara look a lot better. I've heard that tein coilovers are one of the best but not their lowering springs. Since money is a factor, just get whichever has a better deal. Whichever you choose you'll probably like either way, since it improves handling by a lot.

KYB has been around for a long time, but Tokicos a bit better struts I think. The KYBs I have are a bit mushier than I would like. They are however about $100 cheaper for a set of 4, but if I planned to by some struts today I would spring for the Tokicos. The KYBs seem to work, but I believe the Tokicos work better. I have heard of one guy that got a crappy set of KYBs over on SC3, I am not sure if he is on here. Hope this helps.

Too bad KYB doesn't make AGX adjustable shocks for our car.

Anyways, I love my Bilstein + Eibach combo... best companies yield best results haha.

Stay away from KYBs. Many guys, especially over at toyotanation have had trouble with them.

Stay with tokico blues, they are the best setup for our platform.
