The vinyl is holding up really well except for the parts that I hit/scrapped something. The cars a bit dirty but you can see the scratched on the front fender, door and kit. I'm mostly worried about rock chips but there are none. Once the weather warms up I'll redo the kit and doors. I'm curious to see how it'll come off, weather it'll take off the clear coat?? The moral of the story is if you wrap it, don't hit anything.

I parked next to a sign, when I reversed out I forgot about it and turned to early. The front lip took a couple beatings on some steep driveways :(. I'll have to repair that before i rewrap it.

i think if you would have never hit the sign and scratched up vinyl your car would look better than mine which had a new paint job last year March. the Snow and bad weather screwed up my lip kit. Cars parallel parking into my bumpers screwed that up as well.

so i guess in NYC...vinyl wrap would actually be better than a fresh paint job.
since you could always re-wrap areas that are ruined. i need to re-paint my car now to get it looking nice again

maybe i will order a roll....

Chrome vinyl has been out for a bit. I would do it except for two reasons. One, I drive a Camry. Two, I dont want to blind other drivers.

Maybe though when I get my MR2... Oohhhh... Oh yes...

Oracal sells this faux carbon fiber vinyl. It actually looks REALLY GOOD. It's the most realistic carbon fiber vinyl I've ever seen. I had them send me samples, and let me tell you... it looks fiiiiiinnneee.. BUT...it's insanely more expensive than regular vinyl. In fact, I have it in my notes here... It's priced at $82.99 a yard!!! Regular vinyl of the quality used in this post, is priced at closer to $28.99 a yard. I would expect that the chrome vinyl isn't any cheaper.

Yeah carbon fiber vinyl was my first choice but I priced it at more then double the matte black. To spendy for a first time wrap job. But next car I get I'm go for it :)
