Nothing looks good

Nothing looks good

Postby zaior3684 » Wed Sep 14, 2011 8:49 am

I have found almost everything that I had listed as my wanted mods in my last post, but no matter what I search for I cannot get a color wheel that looks good on a hunter green solara. I have it narrowed down to 3 colors but I have doubts about all. Has anyone seen a hunter green solara that has good looking wheels? I couldn't find any through the search.
Black: won't look right because although the car is dark, it'll look like a wanna be murdered out car that is green. And just won't blend
Silver: I don't want to get something plain, I want a set of unique ones.
Gold: no idea on how it would look

Any opinions welcome. Pics uploaded tonight!
Also the stock wheels are 17" correct? So If I get 17 or 18" wheels next I can still lower the car quite a bit.

I have some silver 18's on mine at the moment and it doesnt look so bad. If you want a cheap fix to rims ( like less than $50) then maybe take your stock rims if you still have them and paint them semi gloss black. im gonna do it to mine this weekend hopefully.ill post pics on here when im done if you want to look into it. sand paper, paint thinner, and some black wheel paint is all you need. i just did it to my dad's stock 17 rims for his IS250 and it looks amazing. the rims look amazing.

Green and gold is a color combo that you can never go wrong with. My solara is black with bright silver rims, but my Maxima is green with gold rims. Not the same car I know, but you'll get the idea.

here is a direct link to the photo album of my stock 16's blacked out. took about 6 hours to do. sanding, then putting the notecards around the rim, then prime and dry, finally using engine paint about 2 coats applied then let out to dry. http://s1089.photobucket.com/albums/i353/2Gud2BTru23/

and here is an html link if the top one doesnt work. <div style="width:480px;text-align:right;"><embed width="480" height="360" src="http://static.pbsrc.com/flash/rss_slideshow.swf" flashvars="rssFeed=http%3A%2F%2Ffeed1089.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fi353%2F2Gud2BTru23%2Ffeed.rss" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" /><a href="http://photobucket.com/redirect/album?showShareLB=1" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/share/icons/embed/btn_geturs.gif" style="border:none;" /></a><a href="http://s1089.photobucket.com/albums/i353/2Gud2BTru23/" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/share/icons/embed/btn_viewall.gif" style="border:none;" /></a></div>

and pics of my silver 18 motegs on my car are in another post on here. ill find the link and post it here.

and to tlmnick, im new to the site and im wondering how to post pics directly onto a post instead of linking my pics. if you could help me with that, it would be much appreciated.

Gold on green looks good, but I'd still go with black rims.
