Do you lose power with SRI?

Do you lose power with SRI?

Postby Vuluz » Tue Oct 04, 2011 5:38 pm

Im looking for more throttle response, and making my solara more quick at the start.. Im wondering since SRIs' get warm air from the engine will it decrease my horses?

I know CAIs are better towards highs but Im looking for more throttle response and quick starts. Just dont want to lose any power due to warm air.

I would consider CAIs' if they gave more throttle but from alot of peoples opinions they do not and its a risk of hydrolocking and it rains a decent amount at where I live.

Any help?

u will get more power no matter what because they get better flow, your not getting very much hotter air with the SRI than with a stock intake, CAI's are just a little better because they let a colder air charge come in, either will be an improvement over stock.

If you're worried about hydrolocking the engine because of a cai, you probably shouldn't be driving in water that deep in the first place

Or you can do this and not worry about anything

With a cheap ebay intake I lost lots of power but otherwise nope it was all good I liked my SRI and my CAI and love my CPE intake.
